Proposition 19 is a California ballot proposition which will be on the November 2, 2010 California statewide ballot. It legalizes various marijuana-related activities, allows local governments to regulate these activities, permits local governments to impose and collect marijuana-related fees and taxes, and authorizes variouscriminal and civil penalties.[1] In March 2010, it qualified to be on the November statewide ballot.[2] It requires asimple majority in order to pass, and would take effect the day after the election.[3]Yes on 19 is the officialadvocacy group for the initiative, and No On Proposition 19 is the official opposition group.[4]

So now that you have a little knowledge of what Prop 19 is we can get into the meat of what I’ve got to say, kinda.

First off I’ll let you know that I believe marijuana is illegal to keep hemp illegal. Think about it this way. Hemp can be used for many things; rope, clothes, healthier bread, oil for plastics, oil for fuel, etc. The list continues to grow as you do more research. If the Government can keep marijuana illegal then they can claim that since hemp looks like marijuana it should be illegal too.

In my humble opinion the reason the Government wants to keep hemp illegal is so they can continue to control all the big businesses and make money. Hemp can literally replace most of the major big businesses. At least those are my thoughts on the subject. What does this have to do with Prop 19? Nothing really but I felt like letting you know my thoughts, lol.

Now for Prop 19, if you live in California you should be voting Yes for Prop 19. Prop 19 will make recreational use of marijuana legal in California. They are the state that started medical marijuana after all. This will eventually spread to many other states as the medical marijuana did. I predict the other states will see the revenue increase and jump on it like white on rice.
